| dc.description.abstract | "The submitted dataset contains experimental records on sexual dimorphism in systemic inflammation induced by polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid (PIC) in Wistar rats (males, females, and ovariectomized females). The data include quantitative measurements of: (1) leukocyte migration, comprising blood neutrophil and monocyte counts and peritoneal leukocyte infiltration; (2) mechanical hyperalgesia thresholds evaluated via behavioral tests; (3) core body temperature records for febrile response assessment at 300 and 600 µg/kg PIC doses; (4) spontaneous locomotor activity metrics; and (5) hypothalamic serotonin (5-HT) and its metabolite concentrations obtained through biochemical analysis." | pt_BR |

| dcterms.bibliographicCitation | The inflammatory response was induced by intraperitoneal administration of Poly I (PIC) at doses of 300 and 600 µg/kg. Blood and peritoneal lavage samples were collected for total and differential leukocyte counts using standard hematological counting procedures. Mechanical hyperalgesia was assessed using an electronic von Frey apparatus. Locomotor activity was evaluated in an open-field apparatus. Core body temperature was continuously recorded using an implanted remote temperature data logger. For neurochemical analyses, hypothalamic tissue was collected, homogenized, and analyzed for serotonin (5-HT) and 5-HIAA concentrations by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with electrochemical detection. Ovariectomy was performed in female rats to investigate the contribution of ovarian hormones to the inflammatory response. Experimental groups were defined according to sex, treatment, PIC dose, and evaluation time. | pt_BR |
