Sexual dimorphism in a model of systemic inflammation of viral origin

Abstract

"The submitted dataset contains experimental records on sexual dimorphism in systemic inflammation induced by polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid (PIC) in Wistar rats (males, females, and ovariectomized females). The data include quantitative measurements of: (1) leukocyte migration, comprising blood neutrophil and monocyte counts and peritoneal leukocyte infiltration; (2) mechanical hyperalgesia thresholds evaluated via behavioral tests; (3) core body temperature records for febrile response assessment at 300 and 600 µg/kg PIC doses; (4) spontaneous locomotor activity metrics; and (5) hypothalamic serotonin (5-HT) and its metabolite concentrations obtained through biochemical analysis."
