DatasetAbstract
The database refers to the case-control study, whose study population came from the epidemiological surveillance system during the period 2019 and 2020. The objective was to estimate the effectiveness of the dengue vaccine, CYD-TDV, in preventing cases of symptomatic dengue fever during a campaign period aimed at people between 15 and 27 years old in 30 selected municipalities in Paraná, Brazil. Dengue cases correspond to notifications of the disease confirmed by RT-PCR laboratory tests, registered between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020 in the Notifiable Diseases Information System (Sinan). Two groups of controls were used: the first group was made up of individuals suspected of having dengue, but with a negative result from the RT-PCR test or other confirmatory tests, such as NS1 antigen and IgM antibody. The second group was formed by individuals reported to Sinan as having other health problems (POS), including notifiable diseases not related to dengue, such as treatment for anti-rabies prophylaxis, exogenous poisonings and accidents with venomous animals.
